Copyright- A claim that is given to you by law so that something you have created is protected from plagiarism.
Fair Use- a standard of how much of a copyrighted item you can use without permission.
First Sale Doctrine- allows a purchaser to have control over the document.
Intellectual Property- intangible property that is a product of the imagination cannot be copyrighted
Patent- you have the only right to manufacture an invention for a limited time, after which you can file for a renewal or other people will be able to produce it.
Permission- having consent to remake or reproduce copyrighted material in some other work.
Phonorecords- new technology that allows us to keep our music in digital format so that we can use it on modern devices.
Plagiarism- to take credit for someone's work that isn't your own.
Public Domain- works whose copyright has expired.
Trademark- the symbol used to identify an item. The little apple for Apple.
