Similarities
- They are both forms of Tweens.
- They both make objects move.

- Both fill in frames for you when you determine a start and end position.
- Both change size.
- Both change color.
- Both are used in Flash.
- Both are shown in the timeline.
Differences
- In motion tweens, you change how an object looks. In shape tweens, you make an object become something else.
- In shape tweens you can use guides.
- They have different names.
- One appears as a blue bar in the timeline, and one appears as a green bar.
- When you use a shape tween, the object doesn't need to be a symbol.
